What began as an L.A. band that wanted to raise funds for their local foodbank has grown into Bread Over Bombs – a worldwide network of local charities fighting to eradicate hunger in their communities by raising money through music sales, merchandise and live events.
Bread Over Bombs is Making a Difference
“As an organisation, we are really keen to work with the community. However, having a city centre location we sometimes struggle to reach out in the way we would always want to. Hosting Bread Over Bombs events as allowed us to directly support foodbanks across Glasgow and we think that’s really cool.”

“When I was asked if I would like to support Bread Over Bombs, it was a no-brainer. My mum volunteers at the East Kilbride foodbank and I have seen first hand how the support of organisations like BoB can help the most vulnerable in our society. I was extremely proud when the guys arranged for 100% of the funds from my gig to go to my mum’s foodbank last Christmas and it was a special moment when I handed that cheque over to my mum and her fellow volunteers. It made a real difference.”

“I have stocked the Bread Over Bombs album in my Glasgow record store ever since Brad and the band toured in 2017. I am approached regularly to support local charities and I do my best, however it was clear to me that anything which could address food poverty in Glasgow in the 21st Century had to take priority. In addition to stocking the album, I have also placed a BoB collection tin on my counter and regularly direct other artistic donations to the charity as I know the money goes directly to those most in need.”
